About: Fashion and Puppies

I was reading Jasmine's blog a few weeks ago and came across this post she had done.
I thought I'd give it a try :)

1}~ I LOOOOVE to accessorize! Necklaces, earrings, scarves, belts... you name it, I got it! :) *sheesh* I've even got a tie!

2}~ My favorite colors tonally to wear are blues and greens.

3}~ I have 5 of the exact same white shirt. The first one I got for $10 from Target. The next 2 for $4 and the last 2 were only $1.98! Aaaand they ALL have stains now... *sigh* o.O

4}~ I like to experiment with my hair! Sometimes I'll wear it normal (straight, curly or ponytail) or crazy (usually curly/kinky and up somehow with braids) :)

5}~ I'm not really a big bracelet person. I have one that I wear, but that's it! :)

6}~ My style has been described as "Gypsy", "Hippie", "Eclectic", "Boho" and "What on earth are you wearing?" usually followed by: "I think it's growing on me! Only you could pull it off!" haha... this one makes me laugh!

7}~ I have between 10&11 pairs of shoes... I only wear 2~3 pairs on a regular basis :D

8}~ I'm not too big into hats... although I just bought one the other day I thought I could use somehow! :)

9}~ I don't wear black unless I'm playing Ultimate Frisbee... I have 3 black shirts and a black dress... don't wear the dress and two of the black shirts just sit in my closet.

10}~ Skirts are a necessity!

So... that's 10 fashion-ie things I could think of :D

About: Seven VERY important words!

Eeeeaaaarly this morning, around 1:00 o'clock, as I was doing my nightly quiet time, I was reading John 3:25-36.
Verse 30 stuck out particularly to me!

He must increase, but I must decrease.

Wow.
So few words, but they convey SO much to me!

This should be the highest aim in a Christian's life... in my life!
If I decrease and Christ increases in my life, people will see Him shine through more clearly!
If I decrease and He increases, His priorities become my priorities!

We live in a culture now that everything is about me.
What can I do for me? What can others do for me? What's in it for me?

Since God com mads us to place Christ as our head, why do we as Christians find it so hard to submit?
"If I do that, I won't be me anymore!" is an argument many Christians use.
But...
Why do we want to be us?!
Christ was God on earth... He was perfect.
We are not.

We're stubborn, rebellious people.
A result of the fall.
Something we need to continually fight against.

This verse made such an impact on me, I wrote it in pencil on my wall as soon as I found something to write with!
(My black paint is all gone, or I would use that! :)

I pray this was an encouragement to you today!

About: Memories from 2 Years Ago...

"Hello...? Hi, dad. We've been at the college, I had to keep my phone off. What's up?"
(mom listening, starting to wilt)
"WHAT?! Are you sure?! WHEN?! How is he?!"
(Mom starts sobbing, leaning on the kitchen island...)
"Ok. Thanks for calling, Dad! I love you too... bye."

"What's wrong, Mom?" I asked.

"That was grandpa... he, uh"
(she shudders and cried more)
"said Isaac was in a motorcycle accident this afternoon."

I was stunned...
shocked is more like it, I suppose.

This was the beginning of two years of life without our Isaac. Many more to come.

Two years ago, I heard this very conversation.

It was a hard one for sure... We didn't know Isaac's condition.

It was horrid.

He passed away on September 28th, 2007 from a "non-survivable" motorcycle accident he had in Roseville, California.

Today is a sad day of rememberance for my family and I.

BUT!
Even in this... I know!

God is GOOD!

He has a plan for this... Even in this, we praise God for His mercies anew every morning!

About: My Absence and More! :)

Hey there!
Sorry it's been quite a while since I've posted anything worth~while!
I've been busy this week and sick this past weekend... o.O
Not fun...
Better now though!
Thank you LORD!

Within the last few months, the LORD has really been impressing something upon my heart!
It's a desire to serve Him as much as possible!

One way I believe I can do this is through volunteering at Florida Baptist Childrens' Home.
I love children, working with children, playing with children, feeding children... (maybe not cleaning up after them as much, but it's something that needs to be done :) ... lol)

FBCH is an organization dedicated to helping abused and orphaned children statewide.
They also have overseas mission trips to orphanages, countries include Russia, Honduras, and Guatemala... I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones I could remember at the moment :)
I hope to be of service in anyway possible.

I've also been working on my schooling lately.
ACT studying going well.
I'm going to a class dedicated to ACT mastery sometime soon... I think (lol)
Christian Leaders class going well, it's one of the basic classes so it's pretty easy :)

We hope to paint our music room and kitchen sometime soon!
A beautiful blue/green/gray for the music room...
a beautiful wheat color for the kitchen!
Y'all know me!
ANY chance to decorate makes me SO excited!
I CAN'T WAIT!
Speaking of decorating...
*ahem*
Already in the planning stage of my annual room redecoration that doesn't occur for let's see...
9 months? :D
Can't keep my juices from flowing!

Let's see... what else have we been up to?
Lots of movies :)
We went to dinner at some dear friends' of ours last Friday, I think it was.
They sent home 15 movies with us!
All very good movies so far! :)
