Dear blog readers,
Yesterday was a sad day for many. Mainly one family in particular.
One of the most godly men I know, Mr. Don Gilchrist, went home to be with the Lord yesterday unexpectedly. He has been a great encouragement to me in many aspects of my life and will greatly miss him.
Please be praying for his wife, Mrs. Judy, children and grandchildren as they grieve the loss of this dear man.
II Thessalonians 4:13-18
13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

The joy of the angels in Heaven, another son has come to his eternal home. He will be missed on this earth, but when Jesus comes back what joy and gladness shall fill our souls, to be reunited with those we love and cherish...

So sorry to hear this news. It is a sad thing to lose a loved one--I will be praying for the family.
Such a great and encouraging Scripture too. It reminds me of Matthew's Gospel, chapter 22:31,32
"31 And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God: 32 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living."
He is not only in a better place, but is in the company of angels and the Most High God. We grieve his loss, but rejoice in his heavenly gain.
As Christians, we never say goodbye when someone goes before us--Jesus has conquered sin and the grave--we proclaim confidently:
"See you later, brother."
